Remember to change baby quickly if they get wet especially in winter while wearing cotton. For example, if baby's nappy leaks into cotton garments they can quickly get cold from the "coolgardie" evaporative cooling effect of wet cotton against the skin.
The additional insulating effect of the inside loops in this French terry cotton fabric will help delay the cooling effect of cotton by trapping warm air in a layer against the skin.
