Woollykins believes that giving back to our community and beyond is an essential part of doing business sustainably. Through our circular clothing initiative and other mutual aid creative fundraisers, we actively support causes that reflect our core values.
These include environmental protection, indigenous rights, animal welfare, respect for craftspeople, and the advancement of regenerative farming and soil health. As a for-profit micro business we see it as our responsibility to pay it forward and contribute to initiatives that help build a more resilient and ethical future.
We believe in creating and selling timeless clothing, made with care from natural fibres, that can be cherished for years, repaired, passed on, and ultimately returned to the earth. Transparency is central to how we source, make, and sell our clothing, and that extends to how we give. Below is a list of the charities, organisations, and causes we proudly support.
Since 2019 we have donated over $13,000 not including our Pay the Rent contributions.
(Last updated Feb 2026)
Since early 2022 we have been paying the rent monthly. Paying the Rent is a step towards Indigenous reparations. We conduct business on Sovereign First Nations Land. Australia is founded on land that was stolen from Indigenous people. All people who live here today have not benefited equally from the continuing dispossession of Indigenous people. Every day, people consume food grown on Indigenous land or harvested from Indigenous seas; they drink water that flows across or under Indigenous land. Paying the Rent is a step towards acknowledging these facts.
50% of profits from our Circular Clothing Initiative reNEWool is donated to local environmental charities and human rights organisations. To date we have donated over $500 to causes from local community composting non-profit to aid for displaced children in Palestine.
When we feel called we initiate creative projects aimed at raising funds towards causes of the heart.
During the 2019 Bushfires, we created a project to create Kangaroo pouches from organic materials for injured wildlife.
In 2024 we pledged sales from Watermelon plant dyed products to Watermelon Relief Gaza and Gold coloured plant dyed products from locally collected Cherry Ballart to Seed Mob, indigenous youth climate justice group. We donated $460 to each group.
In 2025 we donated 100% of the sales of a very special mended garment and sent wool blankets from Tweedmill UK to the Koori Women's Place Winter Coat Drive.
In Jan 2026 we donated 100% of wool blanket sales to Harcourt Bushfire Recovery raising a total of $2680.
In a world of consumer holidays, when we can, we like to pledge sales to worthwhile causes. In 2020 we pledged to donate 100% of sales from consumer holiday "Black Friday" to Children's Ground raising over $1100. In 2023 we pledged 100% of sales taken on Survival Day (aka "Australia Day") donating $900 to Djirra, for indigenous women and children escaping family violence.
From June 2025 until Feb 2026 we donated $855 to Free Gaza Circus, a group of young people bringing joy & healing to displaced children in Gaza through performances & workshops. We've also donated to Medical Aid for Palestine and Anera.org. Whilst our government remains complicit in the genocide of Palestinians, we feel called to donate to keep hope alive within ourselves and others.
