We love Disana's cloth nappy system. 100% organic and totally plastic free for all natural, toxin free nappying. We used the Disana system for all three of our babies.
[[ We love Padraig! After having to close production in 2020, it's now official! Padraig Cottage slippers will return to Woollykins March 2021!]]
Woollykins is delighted to introduce Padraig slippers to our collection. We have experienced first hand the wonderful quality, timelessness and durability of these slippers. A pair once came to us in 2009 having already been handed down twice and it has since been handed down three more times. That's the beauty of wool and great design. I know you will love these for all the family.
Padraig Cottage is a family run cottage industry started by Helen back in 1977. Padraig make exceptional quality slippers that are entirely handmade by skilled artisans, using natural, sustainable materials that respects the importance of both the local community and the environment.
Helen made her first pair of slippers for her young son in the winter of 1977. They had a hand cut sheepskin sole and a crocheted upper made with hand spun raw wool. In a few years they would become known as the Original Padraig Slipper. Since Helen started selling her wares at local craft markets, the slipper line and the company have grown and evolved. The slippers now come in numerous colour ways and styles and are sold in boutiques across Canada, the United States and Europe (and now Australia!).
Though Padraig has expanded, employing more than thirty local artisans and staff, they are still independently owned and operated and their premises remain in North Vancouver, ensuring product quality and support of the local community. The slippers remain largely the same; they are still hand-crocheted and hand-dyed in small lots, ensuring each pair is one of a kind.
