Plasticana
We're so pleased to introduce Plasticana Hemp Garden Clogs to the Woollykins family!
Founded in 1998 by André Ravachol, Plasticana patented a way to work hemp fibre into plastic, cutting petroleum dependency at the material level. What started as garden footwear, most notably the Gardana clog launched in 2009, the range has grown into a small family of clogs and mules all made from the same recycled plastic and hemp blend material.
The hemp fibres do double duty: caramelising during moulding to give each pair its natural colouring. Shoes are manufactured in France or Morocco with Humeau Beaupréau.
Because of the non-breathable nature of these shoes which are similar to gumboots, we think it is essential to pair these with a pure wool insole. They look and feel amazing with our Baabuk felted insoles. We adore wearing ours for all manner of messy garden projects and also for creek crossings, wet grass wanderings, camping, and popping down to the shops. Practical and super stylish to boot.
