Before founding BMS® in 1987, Bernd-Michael Schröder gained his expertise in all weather gear with Norwegian brand Helly-Hansen, where he developed waterproof and survival suits - laying the foundation for his future children’s outdoor gear brand.
BMS® offers a wide range of high-quality, functional clothing for babies and children. From the beginning, the company has focused on non-toxic materials, sustainability, and ethical production. In 2010, it received the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 – Product Class 1 certification, confirming its garments are safe even for babies. Since 2013, BMS® has also led the industry by producing PFC-free clothing using their proprietary fabric SoftSkin®, a breathable, textile-lined material for comfortable wear.
BMS® avoids constantly changing collections, instear their clothing is durable, purpose-built, and long-lasting. The brand prioritises washable, water- and dirt-repellent, quick-drying and breathable fabrics, while ensuring environmental safety - using only Greenpeace-approved polyurethane for their waterproof coatings that, unlike much outdoor gear on the market, it tested free from forever chemicals like PFC and PFAS.
