If Disana’s Lanolin is out of stock, please see Sonett brand Wool Care Lanolin Conditioner which is also suitable for nappy cover lanolising.

Lanolin is the natural wax in sheep’s wool. The wax envelops the fibres, protecting them from harsh environments. The woollen products in the Disana line contain plenty of natural lanolin, which protects and cares for the wool fibres.

However with washing the lanolin content is reduced. Lanolin is especially important in woollen pants over a nappy. Other woollen products, too, lose the natural wax in the wool from washing or drying, which is why the wool fibres need to be replenished with lanolin every now and then.

The best way to do so is with a Lanolin treatment. It is made up of liquid lanolin and dissolves easily in lukewarm water. After washing, the woollen product is placed in a bowl with the lanolin treatment. The wool fibres absorb the lanolin again and the woollen product is protected against dirt and becomes more water repellent.

Protect all your winter woollies against stains and keep them water resistant by lanolising them after washing. Extends the life of your woollens.

200ml bottle, made in Germany by Disana
Lanolin from Organically raised sheep, guaranteed free of pesticides.

Lanolin derived from Organically raised sheep is especially recommended for babies since pesticide residues are present in non-organic wool wax as pesticides can accumulate in fats/oils.

Ingredients: Organic Lanolin, polysorbate, cetyl alcohol, citric acid, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate, water. Independent testing has found it to be non irritating, pesticide free and suitable for sensitive skins.

    Instructions on the bottle:

Application: Shake well before use - stand in hot water to melt and disperse if cold or separating.

Replenishing lanolin in woollen overpants: Wash woollen overpants with disana wool shampoo. Dissolve 2 tablespoons of lanolin care treatment in 1 litre of lukewarm water. Place the woollen overpants (inside out) in the lanolin solution and squeeze gently. Leave them only briefly in the lanolin solution before removing them. Gently squeeze out excess lanolin solution and press in a towel. Leave to dry in a shady spot. Do not place them in the sun or on the heater. No need to use extra lanolin on new woollen overpants as there is enough natural wax on the fibre. Simply wash them before first use without replenishing the lanolin afterwards.

Replenishing lanolin in woollen clothing: Dissolve 1 teaspoon of lanolin conditioner in 1 litre of lukewarm water. Continue as with the treatment for woollen overpants. Alternatively, the lanolin solution can also be sprayed onto the clothing.
