High waisted fine rib knitted leggings made from super soft 100% organic baby alpaca. Designed by UMIFORM, our own Woollykins Women's label and ethically made in Peru in collaboration with my alpaca Copenhagen.

We have designed these alpaca leggings for maximum comfort and warmth. They have a very high waist, they are long in the leg meaning they can fit tall women, but also be scrunched up like legwarmers at the bottom. The rib is very stretchy and accommodating all lumps and bumps. The high waist can be worn high to cover the belly and kidneys and is stretchy enough to comfortably cover a growing baby bump. They baby alpaca is not at all itchy, it's super soft and feels much like wearing a warm cloud. However you can also wear over the Engel wool/silk leggings if you need that extra warmth and security. A very special, hard to find Winter warmer that is sure to be loved by Women of shapes and sizes.

Our AW25 has the same 2x4 rib, soft and stretchy elastic waist, and tapered legs and leg cuffs of our AW24 version. For AW25, we've reduced the leg width in the size S/M for a more fitted style in this extra stretchy fibre. Size M/XL remains the same.

    100% Baby Alpaca from Peru.
Oeko Tex certified - Class 1. RWS Certified.

    Sizes: S/M (8-12+), M/XL (14-18) - see below for measurements:

Measurements taken flat: The knit is very stretchy.
    AW25: S-M - Full Length: 104cm, Inseam: 74cm, Rise 30cm, Waist circumference unstretched 64cm, Waist circumference stretched 99cm

Baby alpaca fibres are super soft and lightweight. It is known for providing super insulation due to the microscopic air pockets in the fibres, therefore it keeps you warm in the winter and cool in the summer. The same air pockets make the fibres feel as light as air and yet the fibre is very strong, meaning it lasts longer than most other similar fibres like wools, cashmere and silk. With care, alpaca knits become heirloom pieces that you will want to keep forever.

my alpaca Copenhagen / UMIFORM garments are handmade by skilled and organised groups of Peruvian women, following strict quality standards. They train and work with groups of women, promoting better livelihoods for them and their families. They use only fair-trade practices.

Their Peruvian baby alpaca fibre comes from animals that graze the Andes naturally as they have done for many generations and are managed by small holders at altitudes of 3000-5000m. At those heights food cannot be grown so alpaca farming provides an income to families. Since the area is not cultivated or chemically fertilised or the animal's diet supplemented with feed, they graze on organic mountains although Organic Certification is not possible in those conditions. The animals are sheared by hand once a year.
