Last of the Unisex Gansey Sweaters in Marine Baby Alpaca & in a men's size L-XL.
Our Unisex Fisherman's Gansey is a take on the traditional Cornish Gansey with stitch motifs based on various traditional patterns from 19th century Cornwall as collated by Mary Wright in the 70s for her historical portrait of the industrious knitters supplying local fishermen with exceptionally warm and practical wool clothing through the 18th and 19th century. We've pieced together various stitch motifs to create our take on the traditional Gansey in two beautiful yarns. WIth a boxy shaping and long rib hem, it's a really flattering piece. 100% baby alpaca in marine blue melange and also a classic mid grey 50% alpaca 50% wool listed separately.
100% Baby Alpaca from Peru.
Oeko Tex certified - Class 1. RWS Certified.
Baby alpaca fibres are super soft and lightweight. It is known for providing super insulation due to the microscopic air pockets in the fibres, therefore it keeps you warm in the winter and cool in the summer. The same air pockets make the fibres feel as light as air and yet the fibre is very strong, meaning it lasts longer than most other similar fibres like wools, cashmere and silk. With care, alpaca knits become heirloom pieces that you will pass down through the generations.

Care: Air between uses. Handwash only when required. Reshape while damp and dry flat. Mend any thread pulls or holes immediately.
