*Our Fisherman's Gansey Sweater in fine highland wool with a classic stripe*
Our Gansey Sweater is a take on the traditional Cornish Fisherman's Gansey with stitch motifs based on various traditional patterns from 19th century Cornwall. The gansey stitch motifs were collated by Mary Wright in the 70s for her historical portrait of the industrious girls and women supplying local fishermen with exceptionally warm and practical wool clothing throughout the 18th and 19th century. We've pieced together various stitch motifs to create our own take on the traditional Gansey in beautiful fine highland wool yarn. With a boxy shaping and long rib hem, it's a really flattering piece in a classic vintage style stripe.
