Care instructions
Hand dyed wool yarns require care in washing. Hand wash in cold water with wool wash, minimising agitation, and dry flat out of direct sunlight. It is recommended that you wash items separately at first in case of initial dye run off.
About notnaotherhat:
Lani Stanistreet is the Melbourne fibre artist behind notanotherhat which encompasses recycling, upcycling, hand dyeing, mending, designing knitting patterns and more. In her work Lani has demonstrated a lifetime commitment to recycling and upcycling. For years she has been concerned about our 'disposable' world and the politics of consumption. With her MEND IT recycled salvaged darning cards she is taking positive action to tackle this issue by providing us all with mending inspiration in reclaimed all-natural fibres.
All notanotherhat MEND IT cards are reclaimed from pre-loved items of knitted clothing, sourced locally. The yarns are from quality, natural fibre items that she gently takes apart then systematically unravels, skeins and hand dyes using quality Landscape professional, colourfast, Australian dyes. These yarns are then wound onto MEND IT cards for your mending inspiration.
Notes about production
Notanotherhat yarns are recycled and hand dyed in Lani's smoke-free home in Melbourne, Australia. We have a dog and a cat. While I endeavour to keep my yarns free from pet hair and my pets far from my workspace, people with significant allergies to pet hair should take note that I cannot guarantee the yarn will be entirely free from allergens.
