Move the fabric gently in the water for a couple of minutes. RINSE with cold water and press the excess moisture out - don't wring. Follow with a quick SPIN in the washing machine - choose your lowest spin cycle. Gently pull into shape whilst damp to straighten, then line dry on a breezy day or dry flat. Cool iron if necessary. Wool can absorb 30% of its weight in water before feeling wet so you may prefer to use the bath! Leaving in water for a length of time will damage the fibres, felting and shrinking the fabric. If lanolising, leave to soak for 15 minutes or less.
