This Kirsten Dress by UMIFORM is made in a fine hemp and organic cotton chambray. A chambray weave is a plain weave using different coloured yarns in warp and weft. This fabric is made from 55% hemp and 45% organic cotton. The irregularity of the yarns gives the fabric a natural texture with a smooth crisp drape.
Hemp and Organic cotton makes a luxurious cool blend of two natural plant fibres. Organic cotton is grown without the use of harmful pesticides or insecticides and without GMO and made fair. Hemp is carbon negative and is comfortable, breathable, feels cool and is one of the strongest natural fibres. The plant requires only small amounts of water and it grows easily without the use of chemicals. Hemp has antibacterial properties and shows a natural resistance to UV.
