Bonnet in Organic Merino Wool (0-12m)

Our bestselling bonnet. We love the way this bonnet fits baby's head. Even babies who don't seem to accept any type of hat seem to be okay with this bonnet. 

It's a great bonnet for newborns. Disana's knitted bonnet protects baby’s sensitive head from the cold on their first outings in the fresh air. The special cut encloses the head like a protective cover and especially fine flatlock seams make sure that nothing gets in the way when your baby is lying down. The two wide and flexible straps keep the bonnet in place. A beautiful new baby gift, the smallest size is pictured on my youngest in the natural just a few days old.

The importance of a bonnet: A newborn babies head is relatively large compared with the rest of its body which means that the heat loss through the head is significant. A bonnet helps to keep baby's temperature stable. It also protects the baby from the surrounding noise of the environment. note - Disana have recently added an age range to their bonnet labels so the size 01 reads 3-6m however we have found them to be quite large and fit heads more in the range of 5-12m. If in doubt measure the head circumference and choose that way. Size 1 is modelled on Elly in the Pacific/Teal who is a petite 5 year old.
